Our Teaching Team

Mr. Casperson

Education Specialist

Mr. Casperson is the Education Specialist here at Unity Middle College High School. This is his third year as a Husky, and he could not be more excited about the future of UMCHS.

Mr. Casperson began his career in Special Education as a paraeducator in 2008. He then went on to support students and their families as an Intensive Behavior Interventionist and as a Registered Behavior Therapist. He has helped support many neurodiverse students of all ages and have experienced first-hand how frustrating public education can be for them. In 2015 he made the decision to return to school in order to make a bigger impact. In 2019, Mr. Casperson received his Mild/Moderate Teaching Credential from National University and then in 2021 he earned his Masters Degree in Special Education.

With small class sizes, an emphasis on mastery learning, a focus on students’ social and emotional skills, and full-inclusion model, Unity's Special Education program is something that Mr. Casperson is truly proud to be a part of.
